The world's oldest gorilla in captivity, Fatou, has reached an impressive milestone: her 69th birthday. Instead, she indulged in a feast of cherry tomatoes, beets, leeks, and lettuce. In captivity, however, they can live longer, and Fatou has certainly made the most of her time at the zoo. She became the zoo's oldest resident in 2024, following the death of Ingo the flamingo, who was believed to be at least 75 years old. Fatou's advanced age is not without its challenges. She has lost her teeth, suffers from arthritis, and has experienced hearing loss. Yet, she remains friendly with the zookeepers, even if she is a bit stubborn at times.
