Minter's coaching lineage is strong, stemming from his father, Rick Minter, who led the University of Cincinnati as head coach for a decade. Rick Minter continues to be involved in coaching, currently serving as a senior defensive analyst for the Chargers.
Jesse Minter has been a hot commodity in this coaching cycle, largely due to his instrumental role in guiding the Chargers to two consecutive postseason appearances within his two years on the job. He joined the Chargers alongside Jim Harbaugh two years ago, fresh off a national championship win at Michigan, where Minter served as the defensive coordinator.
